Sound Art Therapy

After making the correlation between emotions and water as a form of metaphorical expression, Ponce designed a sound piece expressing the five stages of grief through sounds of water in various forms- such as a storm transitioning into a gurgling creek. Participants are meant to place personal grief into the various sounds, unveiling the five stages of grief as non linear.

An independent installation was held October 2022 at the University of Texas at Austin. Each participant was given a bowl of water to interact with while they listened.

Ponce accomplished her work through Audacity audio software program, royalty free sounds, and pieces of her own recordings and research into grief and water as a form of therapy.

The five stages of grief are denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance- originally coined by the late Swiss American psychiatrist Kubler-Ross in her 1969 book On Death and Dying.

360 google street Blender Project

After experiencing iconic locations across Austin TX, Ponce decided to capture 360 images and insert digital art exhibits in order to pay homage to the unordinary and offer art to the public. Ponce did so by utilizing Blender 3D animation software for her designs and Google Maps to publish her work, which will remain accessible to all.

In an ever changing landscape, so far one location- Graffiti Park at Castle Hill - has been permanently closed since her digital exhibit went public in 2018. As of today, Ponce’s digital images have amounted 70,000 views in total.

Black and White Street Photography

During a trip across Europe, Ponce decided to photograph the communities that fill the various cities. Humanity as a subject matter interested Ponce as she aimed to create intricate compositions out of candid moments.
